Returning Students - Registration

REGISTRATION 2018

Overview

Homewood City Schools will be using PowerSchool Registration (formerly InfoSnap) for online data verification as part of the registration process. Students’ health information and medical contacts will be entered online. Keep in mind that you may start the process, save entries, and resume at a later time.

Registration is a two-part process. Students will not be registered for school until the online and on-site processes have both been completed. More information regarding the on-site process is below. Note that deadlines for each of these processes may vary for your students depending on where they will be attending school.

  • All students who will be attending our elementary and middle schools next year have a Thursday, May 24th deadline for completing online data verification through PowerSchool.

  • All students who will be attending the high school next year have a Friday, June 29thth deadline for completing the online data verification through PowerSchool.

To begin the online process and to access more information about using PowerSchool (formerly InfoSnap), follow the instructions below under Getting Started. Once logged in, carefully read all information on the Introduction page before proceeding.

When you have completed the online process, print the required forms from PowerSchool Registration and bring all the documents listed below to the front office for the on-site certification of residency. It is not necessary to print or bring the full data verification packet to the school. You should only print and bring the following:

  1. Certificate of Residence

  2. Any school-specific forms, if applicable for your child's school/grade level

Students who have completed both the online and on-site processes and have confirmed expenses based on class schedules should finalize payments as needed prior to the start of school.  There is an option for middle and high school students to make online payments.

We hope that you will find this to be an efficient process. Thank you for your continued cooperation!

ON-SITE REGISTRATION

Registration is a two-part process. Students will not be registered for school until the online and on-site processes have both been completed.

The onsite process will include certification of residence for all students as well as the completion of the 2018-19 Free and Reduced Lunch Application. Additional components may include completion of other forms and finalizing payments. This process may be completed throughout the summer according to the schools’ schedule as indicated in the letter sent to you by the school.

For each school, the following information will be required for certification of residence:

  1. Current power or gas bill received in July that shows the service or property address, not the mailing address (Telephone, cell phone, and cable bills will not be accepted)

  2. Current lease that lists all occupants or current annual property tax notice

An acceptable document for the property tax notice may be obtained by visiting the Jefferson County, Alabama Citizen Access Portal. Select Property Tax on the left. At the top, you may search for your property by last name, Parcel Number, or Address. Print and bring the tax record to the school(s).
