Affordable Home Internet Opportunities for Qualifying Households


On March 31, 2016, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) adopted a comprehensive reform and modernization of the Lifeline Program. In the 2016 Lifeline Modernization Order, the Commission included broadband as a support service in the Lifeline program. Through these affordable services for qualifying low-income households, consumers can complete homework, access ebooks and online textbooks, explore career options, search for jobs, apply to 2- and 4-year colleges, bank and pay bills online, get news, and much more.
