Perhaps you've noticed the development going on at the old HMS site... Or, maybe you've wondered when the eyesore of that empty lot would be put to use?  Construction is currently underway for a phenomenal multi-phase project to build an outdoor classroom and community gardens just behind the new Homewood Middle School.

The genesis of this project was a simple request for a greenhouse by HMS enrichment teacher Mary Binkley. Nearly two years later, Binkley's request has been answered with something much bigger, thanks to HMS neighbors, Bill Cleveland, Paul DeMarco, and generous labor donations by Binkley Construction,  Jane Ross of Goodwyn Mills & Cawood Landscape Architects and Nature's Tap sustainable water solutions.
