A Little About the Wing
You might be thinking right now, "What's sooo special about Homewood's
JROTC program?" Well, I'll tell you. We have been Honor Unit the past 4
years. JROTC is the most active school activity, but there is no requirement
for activity. You are free to do as much or as little as you can do or
want to do. There are several field trips every year, including a trip
to the Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville and a trip to Fort Walton
Beach, Florida. I can't find any other Alabama units on the internet, so
I guess that makes us the first online! Please
e-mail me if I am wrong.
Our wing is run to a large extent by our cadets. Click

A Unit of Service
Ever go to football games? There are always people wearing orange vests
and carrying flashlights to mitigate the chaos involved with parking. The
Lions Club is responsible for that in Homewood, but some of the work is
done with a smile by our cadets. Also, the annual food drive this
Christmas was a big success. Cadets brought in over 2500 pounds of food
for the United Way Food Bank! Our Color Guard can be seen at a wide
variety of local events. We also maintain the school's Lost and Found,
and do other things for the school.
