As the eighth grade counselor at Homewood Middle School, my goal is to help empower students to succeed in academic, emotional and career development.  I will also provide information and support as students prepare for the transition to high school.

Born and raised in Birmingham, I graduated from Birmingham-Southern College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a Psychology minor.  I continued my education at the University of Alabama, receiving a Master of Arts in Agency Counseling.

After several years in the mental health field, I began my school counseling career in 1999.  I worked at Homewood High School from 2001-2003 as the tenth and eleventh grade counselor and Building Test Coordinator.  After taking time off to start a family, I returned to Homewood City Schools in 2018 as the 504 and Building Test Coordinator.  Homewood is a special community and I’m thrilled to be a part of the outstanding faculty and staff at Homewood Middle School.
