TEAM Homewood Reopening Plans
August 4, 2020
Please see this video from HCS Superintendent, Dr. Cleveland, and the important information below regarding the start of school.
Whether you have selected the traditional or virtual learning option, Homewood City Schools is excited to welcome back our students on August 19. HCS has updated our TEAM Homewood reopening plan based on recent guidance from the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) Back to School Toolkit and the Jefferson County Department of Health (JCDH).
With this new information, HCS will start traditional school operating on Level 4 - Maximized Prevention. Elementary students in traditional school will attend school on campus Monday through Friday. Secondary students (HMS/HHS) in traditional school will operate on an alternate school schedule to minimize the student population on campus for the first four weeks of school while HCS continues to monitor and receive further guidance on the ever changing pandemic. Please click here for the secondary alternating student schedule and information.

Learning Opportunities, Devices and Internet (Traditional or Virtual)
Letters will be mailed home tomorrow summarizing the survey results submitted to HCS regarding your child’s learning opportunity and request for a device or internet support for the first semester of school. If there is incorrect information in the letter, please follow the instructions within the letter for making corrections. In addition, a letter to all students in grades K-12 that contains log in credentials for accessing iNOW and Schoology will be included with this correspondence.
