March 6, 2020 - To ensure the best Superintendent is selected for Homewood City Schools, the Homewood Board of Education has selected Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates (HYA) to assist in the hiring of a new Superintendent. HYA is a network of independent education consultants that has completed over 1,400 searches, with student enrollment in these school districts ranging from less than 100 students to upwards of 640,000. The Senior Associate assigned to Homewood’s search has hired 15 superintendents over the last five years and has 34 years of superintendent experience.
The HCS Board of Education selected HYA to provide a thorough search process. HYA will be seeking input from HCS faculty and staff, students, and the community through focus groups/town hall meetings and online surveys. School and community input is designed to collect the desired leadership attributes and experience that Homewood deems important for its Superintendent, matching the system's mission to empower and educate all students to maximize their unique potential.
More information regarding the Superintendent selection process and timeline will be released by the Homewood Board of Education on the HCS website.
It is the policy of the Board that no person in this district shall, on the basis of race, sex, religion, belief, national origin, age, disability, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, and/or any personal characteristic(s), or an affiliation with the Boy Scouts of America, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination in any education program or activity. This includes employment, retention, and promotion.
