Patriot Football Game Information

August 14, 2020 - As the Homewood High School Patriots prepare to kick off the football season next week, Waldrop Stadium will look a little different in order to provide a safe environment for our students, families, and community members.

Waldrop Stadium will operate at a 25% fan occupancy during home football games to allow for proper physical distancing inside the stadium. The HHS athletics department has been working with the Alabama Department of Public Health and the Alabama High School Athletic Association to follow their guidance and recommendations during athletic events.

Please see the additional safety measure that will be implemented at Waldrop Stadium for Homewood High School and Homewood Middle School football games:

  • Facial coverings will be required inside the stadium
  • Every other row of the stadium will be blocked off to allow for physical distancing
  • All tickets will be digital and must be purchased before the games
  • Concession stands will serve prepackaged meals and will be cashless (all debit and credit cards will be accepted)
  • Hand sanitizer stations will be located inside the stadium
  • Fans who are exhibiting signs of illness or Covid-19 related symptoms are prohibited from attending athletic events (CDC - Symptoms of Coronavirus)

Tickets will be limited at all home football games this year to ensure a 25% fan occupancy at Waldrop Stadium. Parents of students participating in HHS football, band, and cheerleading will have first priority to purchase tickets. Individual tickets will then go on sale for HHS students, and any remaining tickets will be available to the public through the HHS athletics’ website.

Patriot fans can also subscribe to the NFHS Network to gain live at-home viewing access to all of the games.  A percentage of each subscription comes back to Homewood Athletics. Click HERE to subscribe today!

Homewood Athletics is thankful for your understanding and patience as we continue to work with our local health organizations to follow their guidance and recommendations this season. We must work together and follow these safety guidelines in order to have athletic events, future fan attendance, and to support our student athletes. Go Patriots! #TeamHWD
